With over 20 years of experience in law, foreign policy and international relations, Ana Birchall has a law degree from the University of Bucharest, a master’s degree and a doctorate in law from the prestigious Yale Law School, USA. She was the first Romanian to be admitted to a master degree at Yale Law School. Before returning home, Ana Birchall worked on Wall Street, New York City, USA, as a lawyer at one of the largest law firms in the world. Since 2003, Ms. Birchall has returned home with her family and worked extensively in the field of law for numerous high profile law firms, particularly in the financial and restructuring subfields. She continued her career by joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs team, promoting Romania’s interests of integration in NATO and EU membership. Subsequently, Ana Birchall decided to get involved in political life by holding the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Romania’s Strategic Partnerships, Minister of Justice, Minister Delegate for European Affairs, High Government Representative for US Relations and European Affairs, Member of the Romanian Parliament, President of the Commission for European Affairs in the Chamber of Deputies, President of the Special Commission for the Presidency of Romania at the European Union Council, President of the Delegation of the Romanian Parliament to the OSCE.

The Management Board of PGE discloses that on January 4, 2023 the Supervisory Board adopted resolution on appointment of Mr. Rafał Włodarski to the Management Board of the eleventh term of office as from January 9, 2023 and entrusting him the position of the Vice-President for Support and Development. Rafał Włodarski is a legal counsel with over 10 years of experience in corporate and regulatory legal services for companies in the energy sector, which involves supporting companies both in their day-to-day activities and in transactions, as well as implementing innovative solutions and representing companies in precedent-setting proceedings. He gained extensive transactional experience in share deal and asset deal transactions, in establishing rules of cooperation between shareholders (joint ventures) and in comprehensive due diligence analyses involving the identification of legal risks associated with companies’ activities. His area of expertise also includes legal advice to energy sector companies and electricity consumers on current and planned legislation, in particular on renewable/CHP self-generation, Corporate PPAs and RES auctions. Until January 2023 Mr. Rafał Włodarski served as Deputy Director of the Supervision Department I at the Ministry of State Assets, and prior to joining the Ministry of State Assets he worked with leading law firms in Poland, where as a member of the Energy & Natural Resources, Corporate/M&A and Banking&Finance practices he participated in a number of key transactions in the Polish market, with an aggregate value in excess of PLN 10 billion. Moreover, between September 2020 and January 2023 he was the Supervisory Board member of ENEA S.A. A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw. In 2013, after completing his legal counsel training conducted by the Warsaw Bar Association, he was admitted to the bar. Mr. Rafał Włodarski has stated that his activities outside PGE are not competitive in relation to activities of the Company and that he is not participating in a competitive company as a partner in a partnership, in a civil partnership or as a member of body of a capital association, and he is not participating in other competitive legal person as a member of its body. Mr. Rafał Włodarski has also stated that he is not registered in Register of Insolvent Debtors, being kept on the ground of Act on National Court Register dated August 20, 1997 (Dziennik Ustaw of 2019, item 1500 as amended).

Vice President of the Management Board of the PKO Bank Polski in charge of the Finance and Accounting Area. Marcin Eckert is a graduate of Harvard Business School, where he completed the Advanced Management Programme. He also took part in the Leadership Academy for Poland programme and studied at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Previously, Eckert worked for PZU where he held the position of the Corporate Director for Corporate Affairs. Between 2019 and 2021, Eckert served as a member of the Management Board of PZU S.A. and PZU Życie S.A. In the PZU Group, he was responsible for the strategy and projects, the Administration Office, the Corporate Supervision Office, the Foreign Companies Supervision Office and the IT Division. Between 2018 and 2020, Eckert was a member and a deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alior Bank S.A. and chairman of the Supervisory Board of PZU Zdrowie S.A.; between June 2020 and June 2021, deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bank Pekao S.A. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Totalizator Sportowy Sp. z o.o. Since 2001, Eckert has been working as a legal counsel. His areas of expertise include commercial law, tax law and labour law. Prior to the employment in Grupa PZU, Eckert held the position of Senior Associate in Bird & Bird Szepietowski i Wspólnicy (leader of the Benefits & Compensation practice). Previously also associated with TGC Tax Advisers Sp. z o.o. (Tax Division Director), Mazars Audyt Sp. z o.o. (Law and Tax Division Director) and Ernst & Young (Senior Manager).

The Vice President of the Management Board – International Assets (appointed as of 10 December 2022). Associated with the Group since the beginning of 2000. Until the date of appointment to the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. he worked among others as a shift foreman, Senior foreman for Production and head of production in the Concentrators Division. In the years 2017-2018 he was Executive Director of the Concentrators Division of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and subsequently from 2018 he served as General Manager (CEO) in Sierra Gorda S.C.M. in Chile. He was responsible for planning the development of the main production line and for managing organisational structures in the divisions of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. as well as in companies of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group. A graduate of Politechnika Zielonogórska (Technical University of Zielona Góra), an engineer of the Primary Technical Problems Faculty (Wydział Podstawowych Problemów Techniki) specialising in Management and Marketing. He completed post-graduate studies in „Minerals processing – Mineral engineering” at Wrocław University of Science and Technology as well as „Lean Six Sigma Transformation” at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. He has many years of professional experience in production management and planning as well as in the area of mining technology. He perfected his skills in companies of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group in Poland and abroad.

Ben Driggs is President of Global High Growth Regions, with broad responsibilities for leading business across a diverse set of geographies that include China, India and Southeast Asia; Central and Eastern Europe; the Middle East and Central Asia; Africa; and Latin America. Previously, Ben served as Vice President of Strategic Accounts and Corporate Development, where he played a leadership role for all efforts with 25 of our most important customers. These included major global retailers to oil and gas companies to logistics companies to aerospace manufacturers. Prior to this role, Ben served in a variety of positions with Honeywell including President, Aerospace Aftermarket; Latin America President; Vice President, Airlines; Vice President, Aerospace Asia Pacific; and Vice President, Propulsion Engines. Before joining Honeywell, Ben was an associate principal with the consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Los Angeles, working in the industrial practice. Ben holds a master’s degree from Oxford University, where he was a Swanson Scholar and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, where he was also student body president and a Flinn Scholar.

Franek Hutten-Czapski is the chairman of Boston Consulting Group in Poland. He is also a member of the CEE Management Team responsible for BCG GAMMA (the firm’s advanced analytics unit) and BCG Platinion (the firm’s technology unit). Franek’s main area of expertise is advising CEOs and executives in the banking and insurance industries. He leads projects in digital transformation, sales growth, distribution effectiveness, customer value proposition, digital marketing, pricing strategy, and post-merger integration. He has also led several projects for private equity firms. Franek has worked at BCG in Warsaw, Chicago, New York, London, and Budapest since he joined the firm in 1997. In addition to his work in banking, insurance, and private equity, he is active in social impact work, contributing to projects for WWF, the National Museum in Warsaw, and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Franek also leads the Empower PL mentoring program at the firm. The program links business owners and CEOs with university students worldwide. Before joining BCG, Franek worked for four years at Procter & Gamble in branding and marketing.
